Scientific Council

The Scientific Council detains the generic function of supervising and defining a policy for all activities in the Scientific and Technical field. Its functions include:

• To deliberate on the assessment of the merits of research projects, annual budget, plan and report of activities of INESC Porto.
• To advise the Board in all subjects pertaining to the scientific development of the institution.
• To implement procedures to stimulate the strive for excellence, the assessment of quality and the promotion of the external image of the scientific activity.

Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board is responsible for internal evaluation and advising, producing reports about the scientific activity of the institute. This body is formed by internal researchers and external scientists, both Portuguese and from other countries.

Department of Information and Logistics

The Department of Information and Logistics (DIL) is a polyvalent, multi-skilled structure that gathers all the administrative support functions, as well as some of the specialized support ones, such as: Accounting, treasury, purchasing and invoicing; Financial management; Fixed assets management; Management information, planning and budget controlling; National and European R&D projects management; Human resources administrative and legal management; Insurance; Juridical advice and Logistic support.

The Communications and Informatics Service (CIS) provides support and services to the global (local and remote) users community of INESC Porto.
