GimmeDaBlues - Beira TV
The musical application GimmeDaBlues one first place in the category “Multimedia Contents and Applications” in the ZON Creativity in Multimedia awards 2011. The application was developed by a team of researchers from INESC TEC in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). Project P3 is a new informative site aimed at youngsters (students and graduates) and adapted to their interests and their experience of using the internet. The project was created through a partnership consisting of the Portuguese newspaper, Público, the University of Porto and INESC Porto and was funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF). The site will be produced by a team of journalists from the Portuguese newspaper and university professionals.

INESC Porto software will facilitate kidney transplants
INESC Porto is developing advanced software to determine the highest number of compatible patient-donor pairs in paired kidney exchange programmes. The aim of this technology is to maximise the number of renal transplants and it gives new hope for patients suffering from kidney failure with incompatible living donors who are forced to wait for a deceased donor. The software will be completed in December 2012 and is being developed in collaboration with the University of Minho, the University of Lisbon, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto and the Portuguese Blood Establishment and Transplant Authority.
